From my passion to Creation until a Master II Theory and Practice of the Art and the New Medias, I nevertheless continued to work in Building and Public Works sector (BTP). I conciliated this job with my studies of Art, but my personal situation, when I graduated, made that I continued to work there.

And against all expectations, I found there to express myself ; to learn differently, and to affirm my creativity.

Life, sometimes, involves choices difficult to make, but there is « reason » and «  passion » things ; And if it is fabulous to be able to reconcile them, very often, we have to make a choice even if we don’t agree with... And then, life goes on, get away, turns, brings misfortunes but also opportunities.

It is the path I had to choose, and it begins like this :

I had the chance to assist and learn with some passionate building workers during my experiences in different professional environments.

I always loved to learn. Both manually and culturally.  And here, I discovered that far from my office I could still create ! That I was in a cellar, on the road or on a roof.

Over time, my artistic skills had to surprise. Because of the rough works, I was soon solicited for meticulous works or the construction of Art : the knowledge of materials, their shaping, their transformations ; if there is creativity in these works, for me, it is here !

From a raw manufactured product to a fine handmade shape… a way for artisan and artist to make peace.

The BTP context work mixing team relationship and autonomy, it learn to me dialogue and insight.

Graphically, BTP allowed me to become very precise in understanding and draw Architecture, in fidelity of reproduction or the coherent invention of technical and mechanical details, in study of textures and material changings. Or in the structure in harmony (or not) of artificial constructions in urban or natural environments.

But as I build the technical drawing of the plans in real, and now that my personal situation allows me, I beastly want to continue my approach and evolve again to express these knowleges in Art. Structure it otherwise... reinvent it!

Mix all this experience with my endless fascination to draw and concept characters, sets, props, environments, …, Or all these other things taken from imagination.

Several told me that I wasted my time, destroyed my chances, and physically built the wall that would prevent me from flourishing one day in my passion. This passion I had to practice like hobby all these years.

But the opportunity finally comes to me. I watched it, pursued it and finally caught it up. And in spite of the years I have been running behind this passion, I think I have learned a lot. I just forged me differently.

I certainly lack professional experience that many people have in Concept art and Illustration, but I learn easily, I learn fast, and I have notions or perceptions they have surely not by my career path.

And you ? Are you looking for an artist with institutional creativity only ? Or a singular person who has practiced his studies ordinarily but otherwise too ?
